2020 Virtual Event

October 22nd -28th

Boise, ID – We Art Women will be returning with a few changes to this year’s event. Our goal is to support the Women’s and Children’s alliance as well as support our amazing local artists.  We intend to carry on that tradition for years to come. The 2020 Event will take place virtually. We invite all of Treasure Valley to join us in the celebration!

“The work the WCA does helping women doesn’t stop. In this time of uncertainty, we can’t stop either. Rocci Johnson has again brought together an incredible lineup of musicians, and our visual artists have offered an arsenal of exceptional artwork to exhibit, bid on, and purchase for this year’s event to support our local community. Our proceeds this year will be allocated for Children's Services -shelter, counseling, licensed secure childcare at the WCA shelter campus.

Being isolated with an abusive family member is part of the reason calls to the WCA’s Domestic Abuse

and Sexual Assault hotlines have increased significantly, more than doubling from last year. In April 2020, calls to our hotline increased 194% compared to April 2020. The high volume of calls has remained extremely high since mid-March.

During the COVID-19 health crisis, the WCA continues to offer an array of programs including

individual counseling, case management, and support groups. These services are provided on a mostly

virtual basis at the present time. We do not charge for any of our services. We have been facilitating civil domestic violence and stalking protection order applications and video hearings at our crisis center during the closure of the Ada County Courthouse. Our doors have remained open, with no interruption of critical services.

Home is not a safe place for everyone especially during this health crisis when vulnerable women, children and men are in unsafe domestic situations and may have more limited access to outside services. We try to get our message out as often as we can: You are not alone. We are

here.
